2022 President’s Message

Happy New Year FAHQ members! Despite the ups and downs that 2021 brought to Florida’s healthcare organizations I am happy to report that FAHQ continues to thrive. We are truly a member driven organization full of dedicated healthcare professionals.

It was exciting to see our members continue to embrace the educational opportunities that FAHQ offered in 2021 despite the challenges we all faced. Members created content, worked through the logistics of virtual learning, volunteered as speakers, and participated in the offerings. Here are some FAHQ 2021 highlights:

  • Hosted the virtual, on-demand, Annual Conference which was well attended. If you missed it some of the individual presentations will soon be available as webinars. (Email webinars@fahq.org if you want to receive an announcement when access is available)
  • Collaborated again with the Florida Society for Healthcare Risk Management Professionals (FSHRMPS) to provide a Leadership Academy to members from both organizations. The next Leadership Academy is scheduled for February 5, 2022 both in-person at the Embassy Suites in Orlando and virtually for those who prefer to participate from home.
  • Participated in the Multi-State Quality Association Webinar Collaboration. The collaboration provides FAHQ members with a number of free webinars and continuing education credits.
  • FAHQ is launching free virtual Workgroups in 2022. The first will kick-off in February and is designed to support healthcare professionals preparing for CPHQ Certification.

I am personally grateful to each of our members who contributed to these successful endeavors. It takes lots of volunteer time and dedication to put these types of programs together. It has been rewarding to watch some of you take that next step in your career by participating as a speaker or developing a webinar.  To learn more about education opportunities FAHQ offers visit the FAHQ website and click on the education tab.

I am excited to meet and work with our members who have stepped into new roles for 2022. We have both new Board members and new Team members. I look forward to working with each of you in 2022 as we continue to make FAHQ better. For those of you who have not yet joined a team there are still opportunities. There are needs for members in each of the following teams: Professional Development, Member Development, Communications, Finance, Bylaws, Conference Planning, and Nominations. To learn more about these teams visit the FAHQ website, click on the About Us tab, then click on Volunteer for a FAHQ Team. If you want to volunteer email teams@fahq.org.

I look forward to serving our FAHQ members in the coming year. If you have ideas about how to make FAHQ better please let me know.

Susan Hendrickson, MHRD/OD, RN, CPHQ, FACHE, FNAHQ
