Florida Quality News On-Line

The Florida Quality News is published annually and mailed to all members and select others, for a total circulation of about 500. It provides members and others with the annual conference summary. The monthly E-Bulletin has taken the place of the quarterly newsletter. The E-Bulletin provides association news as well as articles of interest in the field of healthcare quality. Members are encouraged to submit articles for publication in the E-Bulletin. The Editor and Editorial Board are committed to assisting members who may be writing for publication for the first time. Advertisements are also accepted from members and others to keep the membership informed of educational offerings and other products of interest.

Publication Dates and Deadlines

Publication articles should be submitted to the Website Team Leader Sam Elizondo by the 10th of each month to be published around the 20th of each month.

Information for Authors

For New Authors: Writing for FAHQ E-Bulletin is the best place to start if you have an interest in writing professionally. Follow the steps listed below and DO IT TODAY:

1. Select a topic of interest to you and where you have some information readily available. If it interests you, it will interest other FAHQ members.
2. Jot down your ideas for the article, leading with the primary idea or reason for the article. Add some supporting ideas and then arrange them in an order that makes sense to you.
3. Take your notes and write the article one paragraph at a time, choosing the ideas for each paragraph and developing them more fully.
4. Make sure you credit other sources used in your article, or make clear when you are offering your own opinion. If you are writing about a study or project, give some results to demonstrate the value.
5. As always, protect confidentiality - no patient information, provider information, or organization information (unless your organization approves).
6. If at any time, you get stuck in writing, call the Editor or a member of the Editorial Board to help you get moving again.
7. Don't worry about the length of the article - it can be as small as 200 words, and if it's too long for one issue of the News, we'll publish in over more than one issue.
8. Send your article in to FAHQ by email in Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, or pdf format

ADVERTISING RATES

Multiple issue discount (for same ad copy) is available for the Florida Quality News at the rate of 10% per issue over the single issue.

Advertisements must be submitted as camera ready copy and received by the Editor by the deadlines published above.
