2017 President's Message
As the 2017 Board of the Florida Association for Healthcare Quality (FAHQ) prepares to serve FAHQ members for the upcoming year, I would like to begin by recognizing the excellent work of our outgoing board members and thank them for all they have done to support FAHQ and quality professionals in Florida.
FAHQ has always been about supporting members through providing cutting edge educational conferences and advocating on the part of all Floridians for quality health care. 2017 promises to be a challenging year for health care in general and quality professionals in particular as we navigate the challenges of providing quality health care in an ever-changing environment.
I look forward to our annual conference in May and many exciting changes in the way we communicate with our members, thanks to the hard work of our the FAHQ Communication team who are working to update our presence on social media as well as incorporating new platforms to meet the needs of members.
As you incoming board sets goals for this year, I encourage you to take a moment and share any suggestions you may have for programs and ways FAHQ can improve our services to our members.
As well, I would like to extend an invitation to you to become active in the organization. You don’t have to be experienced to join or even a long-time member. Last year, input from some of our newest members was instrumental in identifying opportunities to improve communication using many forms of social media. Together, board members and new FAHQ quality professionals brainstormed ways FAHQ could better serve our members. It true quality improvement form, we covered the walls with ideas and sticky notes and developed a plan to improve!
Your opinions and ideas are crucial to keeping FAHQ a vibrant organization that meets your needs. Have a problem that needs a solution, or a solution for a problem? Sharing challenges and successes is just one of the benefits of being a member.
I am grateful for the opportunity to serve you and continue the dynamic work of our organization in supporting health care quality. I hope to hear from you and welcome your ideas and I’m looking forward to seeing you at our 2017 conference in May!
